To ensure accuracy, a patented tape leader ensures consistent tape motion, while a unique tape/reel locking mechanism prevents tape slack. The tape itself features a special high-grade metal particle (MP) formula that reduces tape and head wear. The result is tape that delivers a proven one million passes with a negligible impact on soft error rates and a 30-year archival life.

The metal particle (MP) is .498 inches wide and 1200 feet long.
